What We Do

Effective August 2013, Agri Smart, Inc. was awarded 1.2 million acres of land for farming and forestry through a partnership with the SODEFOR, a government agency in Cote d’Ivoire. SODEFOR has agreed to lease AgriSmart, Inc. a 20 year tenancy of certified forests and land for cultivating corn and other agricultural products while creating better-than-average-wage jobs. Agri Smart, Inc. is introducing industrial agriculture in combination with reforestation using a system, called taungya (wiki), of intercropping between trees for optimized yields. In addition, with financial assistance from the United Nations (UN) Inter Agency Working Group (IAWG) for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) in Cote d'Ivoire (UN), Agri Smart, Inc. will train and build a network of contract farmers producing staple crops that are part of the Ivorian diet, many of which are currently imported, as well as commodity products for export.
